Every day, social media is filled with shocking and unbelievable news stories that go viral on the internet and force us to think about our silly mistakes. Similar is the story shared by a woman named Kameron Jane on TikTok with a message across the video clip “You will never really believe what my mom really made for dinner.” The clip is going viral on the video sharing app and has amassed over 5.7 million views since it was posted on April 5.
“Look at what my poor mother did. She had just cooked this beautiful dish … Tuscan chicken … in this amazing sauce” made with “this pure Greek olive oil that she had to order online,” Newsweek quoted Kameron Jane as saying.
The camera moves slowly towards the disc and we find cooked chicken before the camera pans again towards the woman showing a bottle in her hand with a label saying “Pure Greek Olive.”
Now, as the camera pans back towards the kitchen counter, Kameron Jane says, “This delicious meal that she spent forever on… it’s only after she’s finished that we find out it’s shower gel.” And now the camera zooms in on the bottle label which reads, “blossom olive shower gel.”
According to the bottle label, the shower gel is produced by Korres, a Greek skincare and beauty brand known for using natural ingredients in its products, including olive oil.
“She had to leave the room because she was so angry,” Jane added while controlling her laughter, Newsweek reported. After tasting the dish, Jane said, “The chicken tastes like straight soap.”
Later, when Jane asked her mother how she felt, she replied that she (her mother) “physically wanted to hurt someone or hit something really hard.”
Many users on the video sharing app were surprised to find out about the same while others sympathized with the mother.
The mother took to the comments section and wrote, “Mum here and I have so many explanations of how this happened but still a bit frustrated at the moment! Not going to lie! That’s what lack of sleep is and too much multi-tasking can lead to !”
“I would cry. I would literally cry. Poor mum,” wrote another.
“I’m Italian and I didn’t even read what was on the bottle but when I saw it I screamed in disgust…the chicken looked good,” one person added.
“That doesn’t look like olive oil have you seen olive oil bottles,” said another.
“The meal looked amazing. We are sorry for your loss. Mistakes happen,” said a user.
