After the Lucknow Bench order of the Allahabad High Court, the government of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has taken such a big decision that it is learned that around 16 thousand unrecognized madrassas have been closed. Among the illegal madrassas closed by CM Yogi Adityanath’s government, the madrassas that meet government standards will now be in the ranks of schools recognized by the UP Board, CBSE or ICSE. However, officials said that those madrasas that do not meet the standard would be closed and the children studying there will be admitted to government schools.

For this, the Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra has formed a five member committee under the chairmanship of the Managing Director of each district. This committee will identify madrasas and give admission to the children studying there. If necessary, such children can also be admitted to private schools. If children are still denied access to school, the committee will also consider opening new schools. It is significant that about 13.5 lakh children are enrolled in about 16 thousand madrasas.
