GUWAHATI: A Class 2 student was killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras, allegedly as part of a black magic ritual to bring prosperity and glory to the school. The incident reportedly happened on September 2.

The police said that five people, including the principal of the school – DL Public School in Rasgavan – his father, and three teachers, were arrested in the case.
The police also said that the school principal’s father, Dinesh Bagal, believed "black magic" and allegedly planned the ‘human sacrifice’.
According to the police, the accused planned the human sacrifice ceremony for September 6 with another boy. However, the plan was foiled when the boy raised an alarm and ran away. A medical examination of the child later confirmed signs of suffocation.
On September 22, the accused tried the ritual again, intending to sacrifice the victim near a pipe far behind the school. When the boy woke up while being taken there, the suspects panicked and strangled him inside the school.
Further investigation led to the discovery of ritual items near the tube well, supporting claims of occult activity. Police believe the motive behind the crime is rooted in superstition.
The alleged motive behind the murder was to ensure the prosperity of the school, which was under financial stress. The accused believed that offering a human sacrifice would lead to the success of the school.
Explaining the whole incident, the boy’s father, Krishan Kushwaha, said: “I got a call from my son’s school saying, "Your child’s condition is very serious. Please come right away." While I was on my way, they called again and said, "The boy’s condition has worsened, and we are taking him to Sadabad." We followed them towards Agra, but they did not stop the car. When we returned, we caught them in Sadabad, where we found the child’s body in their car.”
Khattar Superintendent of Police Nippon Aggarwal confirmed the arrest of five people in connection with the crime. "We arrested five people," Agarwal stated. "The boy was suffocated with the intention of bringing prosperity to the school and securing his future."
