Unexpected death of teenage bride within two months of marriage, family alleges murder
Kishanganj: In-laws including husband have been accused of murdering a newly married girl. The incident took place in Balaganj village of Telta police station under Katihar district of Bihar. Police recovered the girl’s hanging body on Thursday night. Family members including husband absconding since the incident. Police have started searching for the accused.
The dead girl’s name is Chaman Noori (16). The house is in Hatibandha village of Baisi police station in Purnia, Bihar. It is known that Mohammad Iqbal (25), a young man from Kumhara village of Chaman Baisi, was traveling to Hatibandha village for work. Iqbal developed a love relationship with Chaman Noori due to traveling to the village. Two months ago, Noori and Iqbal eloped to Delhi and got married secretly. Kishori Nuri did not even understand that marriage was the end of her life. After marriage, they spent some time in Delhi and moved to Iqbal’s aunt’s house in Balaganj village of Telta thana area of Katihar district. Noori’s hanging body was found there on Thursday night.
Noori’s family sources informed that the news of Noori’s natural death was reported on Thursday night. After receiving the news, they quickly went to Balaganj village and found the girl’s body hanging inside the house with a noose around her neck. Both feet are on the ground. The family of the deceased alleged that Noori was killed and hanged by her husband Iqbal and her in-laws. The deceased’s mother Alfa Khatun said that Iqbal was already married. He kept it a secret from Nuri. After Noori came to know about the matter, the turmoil in the family started. Menstrual and physical torture started on his daughter. He alleged that his daughter was killed for that reason.
Meanwhile, Telta police reached the spot and recovered the hanging body of Noori. The police recovered the body and sent it to Katihar Medical College for autopsy. In this case, the family of the deceased filed a complaint of bride-murder against the deceased’s husband Iqbal, father-in-law Mohammad Mansoor, mother Nargis, aunt Anwari Khatun, brother Nabubat and first wife Babli Khatun at Telta police station. The accused have been absconding since the incident. Police have started searching for the accused. Purnia Sub-Divisional Police Officer Saroj Kumar Suman said, ‘A case of bride murder has been filed on behalf of the deceased’s family. An investigation has been started on the basis of that complaint. He assured that the accused will be arrested soon.
