The court convicted two defendants who robbed cash and a car from the driver requesting a van to deliver the goods. The Court of the Eighth Additional Sessions Judge PS Markam sentenced the accused Anthony Robin Disa and Aman Dubey to rigorous imprisonment of 7 years and 6 months respectively. Besides, both were also fined a total of Rs 1500.
Additional Public Prosecutor Pradeep Nema said that the applicant Ashish Kumar Chandrakar was a driver by profession. At the time of the incident, he was driving a van bought by his brother-in-law Sanjeev Verma on hire. On March 7, 2023, Ashish Kumar Chandrakar was called by accused Aman Dubey on his mobile. He said that household items should be shifted from Prasada village to Karon Green Kumhari. For this, he took a car from his house and reached Atal Awas Prasada around 11 am. Aman Dobby and Anthony Rubin Disa were found there.
Under the pretext of displaying the goods, they took them into the house, where they were beaten at the point of a knife. After that, 3.5 thousand rupees were robbed from his pocket, the van key and 15 thousand rupees kept in his trunk. On the complaint, the Kumhari police station registered a crime against the two accused under Sections 394, 342, 34 and arrested the accused.
