Prime Minister Narendra Modi made several posts on social media platform X about Naya Chandra Abhiyan. He writes, “Union cabinet approves Chandrayaan 4 mission. It is a proud moment for every Indian. ISRO’s goal is to send people to the moon by 2040. Not only should it be sent, but it should also be brought back to earth safely. Chandrayaan will be exercised in 4 missions. The central government expects Chandrayaan 4 to be ready for launch within the next 36 months.

ISRO chairman S Somnath said, “This mission requires a completely different technology. which would escape the Moon’s gravity, orbit around and be able to return to Earth without burning up. It’s hard work. But if we want to send people to the moon by 2040, then we have to master this strategy.”

ISRO is going to start a space docking test for this. It is called SPADEX or Space Docking Experiment. Two small satellites will be launched into two separate orbits. Its task would be to bring them close enough to reconnect to be able to transfer samples into space.

ISRO also aims to build a space station in space by 2035. For this, space scientists feel the need to continue missions like Gaganyaan and Chandrayaan.
