The third meeting of the Quad Policy Planners working group was held in New Delhi on Monday. In this framework, the priorities of the Indo-Pacific region were discussed. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided information regarding this meeting.

In a social media post, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, wrote, “The third meeting of the Quad Policy Planners working group was held today in New Delhi. The meeting discussed key priorities of the Indo-Pacific region and ideas for the future of the Quad.

The Quad is an exclusive diplomatic partnership between India, Australia, Japan and the United States, committed to pursuing an open, stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific The Quad was re-established in 2017. The Quad has since announced the establishment of six working groups, focusing on different policies and initiatives.

Earlier in 2023, US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albany, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Prime Minister Narendra Modi met in Hiroshima for the fifth edition of the Quad Leaders Summit.

The Quad’s positive and practical agenda focuses on addressing the region’s pressing challenges, including health, security, climate change, infrastructure, technology, cyber security, humanitarian aid, counter-terrorism and more.
