West Indies suffered a major setback after one of their leading batsmen was ruled out of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved the tournament’s co-hosts to make a change to their squad after opening batsman Brendon King was rested with a side strain.

Now, Kyle Myers will replace King for a reminder of the marquee event.

Brandon King looked to be struggling during the group stage games, but he seemed to be back to form and scored 23 off 13 balls against England in their Super 8 match.

King retired hurt during the match which the West Indies lost by eight wickets.
