After the sudden change in the weather on Sunday, an average of 7.3 mm of rain fell in the district in the last 24 hours. According to the meteorological department, similar weather will continue for the next three days as well. Changes in the weather and rain have increased the problems of farmers in harvesting vegetables and light crops. Currently, a farmer is busy The district is harvesting fields. Due to a change in the weather, there is a possibility of an increase in the incidence of pests such as brown aphid and stem in Rabi season cultivation. Here, due to strong winds, the mango crop has also been damaged. A large amount of small mangoes have fallen. Tomatoes, bitter gourd and Rabati flowers have started to grow in the gardens .Possibility of flowers falling due to strong wind and rain has increased. Due to cloudy sky the possibility of pest attack on vegetables has also increased. At present there is no possibility of change in weather. According to the Meteorological Department, a trough has formed from Odisha to North Tamil Nadu through Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada. It is at altitude of 1.5 km above sea level. Because of this, a large amount of moisture comes to the country from the sea. The effect of this system will continue for the next three days. In the last 24 hours in the district, Pithora block received the highest rainfall of 13.3 mm, Mahasmond 10.0 mm, Saripalli 4.6 mm, Gabhara 5.2 mm and the least in Sena 3.8 mm. Thus all the blocks of the district combined to 36.9 mm of rain. A significant drop in temperature was also recorded since the rain on Monday. Because of this people got relief from the heat. Crops of wheat, mango, mava and vegetables were damaged due to rain along with strong wind. There is a possibility of a further drop in the overnight temperature due to heavy thunderstorms and rain on Tuesday. There was intense lightning on Monday night. The flash and the sound of the lightning were so strong that people remained hiding in their houses. In the morning it was drizzling between dark clouds. There were light clouds throughout the day. Due to this, a drop in temperature was recorded. On Tuesday the maximum temperature of the day was 33 degrees and the minimum was 22 degrees. Temperatures at night are expected to drop further. Beneficial for new crops but harmful to standing crops: FR Kashyap, deputy director of agriculture department, said the rains that have fallen in the last three days are good for new crops, but will cause damage to standing crops.
