Donald Trump is trumpeting that migrants from all over the world are flooding the border between the United States and Mexico and moving en masse to various small communities that are not prepared for the onslaught. This is a historic tool used by almost every grassroots politician in existence. The so-called “big lie” has been used to recruit support from established communities by politicians around the world.
The Holocaust is an example of how politicians with various objectives find a national scapegoat (Jews) and claim that this group of outsiders are enemies from within, smother the flames of hatred, jealousy, envy and greed until whole communities act as oppressors and murderers, or just stand by while these atrocities take place. In Donald Trump’s world, the @15-20 million illegal immigrants living in America should be kicked out of the USA. There are no places for them in America except perhaps on the corporate farms of California, the South and the Mid-West. Cheap labor runs a Trumpian World. Otherwise, all the cat and dog eating migrants need to get out and stay out right Donald?
After the American Civil War, when the slaves were freed, these poor, homeless people migrated north. They came face to face with similar attitudes from their Yankee liberators who had no problem punishing the South by freeing their main source of labor, but hell if these people move into our neighborhood! All politicians without any principles or morals consider migrants as an excuse and a source of wealth and power. Make people believe they are all criminals, bad in carnet and threats and what do you get? Donations, political support and the opportunity to gain political power by controlling the situation they created.
This kind of thing is happening right now in Gaza where a few hundred Hamas fighters have the might of Israel trying to exterminate them, and all the while millions of Palestinians are being driven away from their homes. Russia views the LGBTQ Community as dangerous outsiders who either come from abroad or are influenced by the Immoral Corruption of the West. The atrocities in Syria drove millions of Syrians and North Africans to the EU, where they are trying to establish themselves. These migrants are the cause célèbre for every extreme right wing group across the EU, each with one single plan, to drive these migrants into the Sea and out of the EU.
Immigrants were treated terribly in Canada and the USA, often ghettoized and isolated for their own safety. That was then, and this is now. The vast majority of us respect migrants and see how important they are to the prosperity of our economies and community growth. The high costs to provide for these people are borne by society for a time. The hopes of integration and transformation of these people encourage us to celebrate new neighbors. That is the difference between a welcoming society and a social inertia that closes people’s minds and hearts, instilling fear and mistrust.
There is a reason that people are scared enough that they are possibly open to wrong information developing into hatred for the other. Mass disinformation is a key tool in driving a nation towards isolation and the grand puppeteer may be Donald Trump or Joseph Goebbels. Goebbels once said, “the most brilliant propagandist technique will give no success unless one basic principle remains in their minds, limiting itself to a few points and being repeated over and over again”. Now who has been carrying out those instructions during the current American election? Hint, he’s known as the Donald.
Migrants build economies and are a central part of society. The cross-benefit of migrants being welcomed into society far outweighs their threat factor. what do you think?
