Estate agents say Giffnock is a property hotspotEstate agents say Giffnock is a property hotspot (Image: PA) Douglas Nicol, director of Nicol Estate Agents in Giffnock, says: “The local market in Giffnock remains buoyant, with demand often outstripping supply.

“So when properties come on the market, we find that they are snapped up very quickly.

“Giffnock is one of Glasgow’s most popular suburbs, with excellent local amenities, transport links and some of the best performing schools in Scotland.”

Tim Bannister, property specialist at Rightmove, said: “Carluke has come out on top again this year for the fastest market across Great Britain, underlining the continued speed of the market in this part of Scotland.

“The commuter towns of Glasgow, Giffnock and Uddingston, are currently high on the list, suggesting that buyers are looking for easy access to the city centre, while enjoying the increased space that can come further out.

“In London, commuter areas such as Walthamstow and Dagenham are leading the way in finding buyers with the fastest, likely to be driven by well-connected transport links and more affordable prices compared to central zones .”

He added: “In contrast, more exclusive central locations such as Knightsbridge and Chelsea take longer to find buyers, as these high-end markets typically move at a different pace.”
