The Standing Committee on Religious Affairs of the National Assembly has recommended a reduction in the fee for visitors to Kartarpur.

In the standing committee meeting, the committee chairman said that people who come to Kartarpur complain that they have less time, pilgrims say that they cannot complete their prayers.

Officials said pilgrims coming from India are not allowed to stay overnight in the Pakistan-India agreement.

The religious affairs secretary said we have recommended to the Prime Minister’s Office that the $20 fee be removed.

Committee member Khyel Das Kohistani said I think the fee should not be removed completely, in fact it should be reduced, the time of the pilgrims should be extended so that the pilgrimage can be completed.

The Chairman’s Committee recommended that the fee for visitors to Kartarpur be $10.

The Secretary for Religious Affairs said that the Hajj and Umrah Bill has been sent to the National Assembly but has not yet been passed, the committee has also recommended the Speaker of the National Assembly to pass the Hajj and Umrah Bill.
