A case of attempt to burn people with kerosene oil for non-payment of dowry came to light in Digghi Mohanpur village of Lakshmipur police station area. The victim, Sonarva Devi, said that her husband and in-laws tried to kill her by burning her when she did not pay Rs 2 lakh. Hence, today on Monday, after reaching Aspen, SP Shaurya came to apply for Suman. She further said that in 2022 she was married to Vinod Ravidas, a resident of Digi Mohanpur of Lakshmipur police station area. After the marriage, the husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law and other in-laws started demanding a dowry of Rs 2 lakh. When he did not give, he starved him for several days and even beat him.
