The central government has warned of tough action against late workers. The Center has clearly said that there is a need to take seriously the cases of employees who are late for work and leave early. In fact, a complaint was received that many employees do not register their attendance in the Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS). Apart from this, a complaint was also received that some employees were regularly late.
The Ministry of Manpower issued an order
The Ministry of Manpower issued an order proposing the use of a mobile phone-based verification system (face verification system). The order stated that the matter of the strict implementation of AEBAS was being reviewed. The ministry noted that there is laxity in the implementation of AEBAS. Taking this seriously, the office said that all departments will regularly monitor the attendance reports.
Late workers will receive half a day off
The order also states, “The issue of employees who tend to arrive late and leave their jobs early must be taken seriously. Strict measures must be taken against such employees. The Ministry of Manpower stated that in case of late arrival, casual leave of half a day (CL) must be given to such employees, i.e. to give half a day’s leave to such employees.Also, it is said that lateness of up to an hour for valid reasons more than twice a month can be approved by the authorities.
There is no difference between registered and active employees in AEBAS
All departments were instructed that the attendance of employees must be recorded at all times. This will ensure that there is no difference between registered and active workers in AEBAS. All departments asked their employees to follow the instructions related to office scheduling, late attendance.
