In the film starring actor Sanjay Dutt, a doctor is seen being forced to take the MBBS entrance exam by an unqualified person. As the layers of NEET exam rigging peel away, the shameful fact emerges that the entire system was busy converting unfit candidates into Munnabhai Chhap doctors. In the NEET Godhra incident, the principal, principal and teacher of a school were caught colluding to help students crack the NEET exam. Cash worth Rs 7 lakh and checks worth Rs 2.30 crore were recovered from the accused, showing that huge sums were collected from students to make them doctors. The Congress has alleged gross negligence in this entire episode and the diversion of the investigation. At the same time, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that there are no large-scale irregularities in this matter and action will be taken as per the court order.

NEET fencing incident exposed after confidential complaint. The district court received a complaint through a letter that the Jai Jalaram School in Godhra is busy taking Rs 10 lakh each from the students to help them crack the NEET exam. Full connection information is also provided in the letter. According to this letter, the district magistrate entrusted the responsibility of investigating the matter to the senior police officer of the district.

The police then raided the people associated with the school. During the raid, cash worth Rs 7 lakh was seized from a school teacher, Tushar Bhatt. Subsequently, at the instance of Tushar Bhatt, the police arrested the principal of the school Purushottam Sharma and the middlemen Vibhor Anand and Arif Vohra. Police also found checks worth Rs 2.30 crore in the raid. Those students who were unable to pay in cash, gave a check instead of payment after the selection.

According to the police, money worth millions was taken from at least 27 students. However, only three students could qualify NEET from this centre. It is believed that a student may not have been able to win even after paying money he or his guardian disclosed the matter through a confidential complaint to the district judge.

The Congress adopted a tough stand

Congress has adopted a very rigid stand on NEET. Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi called it playing with future of students. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharj said that due to the central government’s negligence, the future of 24 lakh students hangs in the balance. According to him, the scam should be investigated with independent forensic experts under the supervision of the Supreme Court.

Kharge posted on X alleging that a cover up of the NEET scam had started. He said that if there was no paper leak in NEET, then why 13 accused were arrested in Bihar due to paper leak? Didn’t the Economic Offenses Unit of the Patna Police reveal a payment of 30-50 lakh rupees for documents to the education mafia and organized gangs involved in the racket? Transactions worth crores have been uncovered as far as Gujarat. Despite this, the government says there is no widespread corruption in this matter. This is not true.

What did the minister say?

Students are protesting all over the country regarding NEET. Seeing the anger of the students, the central government also fell on its feet. So far the center has said that there was no large-scale corruption in this case, but wherever irregularities are found, an investigation will be conducted and the affected students will be given a chance to try again. But after the anger of the students and pressure from the opposition parties including the Congress for a CBI probe in this matter, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that action will be taken in this matter as per the court’s order.

Why were the students angry?

The students now firmly stand by their demand to cancel the entire exam and conduct the exam again. In this regard, the head of NEET also opposes the investigation of this matter. ABVP student leader Ashutosh Singh told Amar Ojla that the credibility of NTA has been lost in this whole controversy. The kind of preparation that should have been done in conducting the 24 lakh exam, the level of credibility of the exam centers that should have been maintained, was not done in this entire controversy. Their demand is that this entire issue should be investigated by the CBI and the culprits should be punished severely.
