Supreme Court: The Supreme Court has asked the examination institute’s response to the allegations of irregularities in NEET Achi-News

New Delhi: Responding to a plea requesting a re-examination of the National Eligibility Test (Graduate) 2024 (NEET-UG 2024) due to suspected leakage of question papers and discrepancies, the Supreme Court on Tuesday, June 11, issued a notice to the National Tests. Agency (NTA). The application submitted by ten NEET candidates was examined by a vacation bench of the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court said, “The sanctity is affected, so a solution is required,” and asked for an explanation from the NTA on the petition. He also expressed concern over allegations that the integrity of the exam had been compromised. The next hearing is scheduled for July 8.

According to PTI, the vacation bench headed by Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah refused to postpone the counseling of eligible candidates for admission to MBBS, BDS and other programmes.

This year, NEET-UG 2024 was conducted on May 5 for nearly 24 lakh students and the results were declared on June 4, well ahead of the expected release date of June 14. The NEET results showed that 67 individuals, six of whom are from from the same or nearby examination centres, scored a perfect score of 720.

The NTA, which is responsible for conducting the examination, is being probed for issues such as wasting time, mismanagement and awarding grace marks for conducting the general examination. Parents, teachers and students demand a proper investigation and re-examination to ensure fairness and openness.
