ISLAMABAD (Newsdesk) To prevent the use of illegal tinted glasses on vehicles, the Ministry of Interior has directed the provincial authorities to take decisive action against those who issue and use fake licenses. The directive, issued on the special instructions of Interior Secretary Khurram Agha, shows the government’s commitment to maintaining public safety and curbing illegal activities.
The ministry expressed concern over the increasing number of fake tinted glass licenses being distributed. In a letter to Home Secretaries and Inspectors General of Police across Pakistan, the Deputy Security Secretary emphasized the need for strict enforcement of existing laws. This latest directive follows an earlier letter issued on April 8, 2024, which initially highlighted the growing problem.
Pakistan has strict laws regarding car windows, allowing only slight tinting for specific purposes such as safety or medical reasons. Unauthorized tinting can impede visibility and hinder law enforcement efforts, potentially aiding criminal activity.
The Ministry has instructed the provincial authorities, including the Federal Investigation Agency, to take the following steps:
* Check the validity of all tinted glass permits.
* Initiate legal action against those who issue or use false licences.
* Ensure strict compliance with existing window tinting laws.
The crackdown is a sign of a renewed commitment by the government to ensure public safety and combat any potential abuse of tinted glass on vehicles.
