Spelling error in the Union Minister’s application! The High Court imposed a fine of Rs 1.25 lakh Achi-News

New Delhi: It has been reported that the High Court (Jharkhand High Court) has fined the Union Minister for failing to correct spelling errors in the petition submitted to the Court.

Union Minister Arjun Munda has been fined Rs 1.25 lakh by the Jharkhand High Court in a recent judgment by a bench headed by Justice Rajesh Kumar for failing to rectify defects in the application. The court directed Arjun Munda to deposit the fine amount with the High Court Advocate Clerks Association.

Further, even as the Jharkhand High Court fined the Union Minister, the Jharkhand High Court also granted interim relief by staying the punitive action against the Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda and sought the government’s response on the matter. The next hearing in this case will be held on May 8.

The case relates to a petition filed by Arjun Munda challenging the FIR registered against Union Minister Arjun Munda and other BJP workers for an alleged altercation with the police during a procession to the Secretariat on April 11, 2023 .On April 11 last year, BJP leaders protested outside the secretariat. BJP workers who were going to the secretariat had an altercation with the police. The police fired tear gas, water cannon and lathi charge to stop the protesters from moving towards the Secretariat.

In the same case, a complaint has been filed against 41 people including BJP state president Babulal Marandi, Union Minister Arjun Munda, Godda MP Nishikant Dubey, Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, former Chief Minister Raghubar Das and 41 people from including Jharkhand BJP workers in Dhurwa police station and ban order case registered.

Arjun Munda had filed a criminal writ petition in the Jharkhand High Court to quash the FIR in this case. The petition was defective and the court asked that it be struck out. However, without correcting the error, Munda’s lawyer followed an irresponsible attitude and brought the matter before Justice Rajesh Kumar’s court for hearing.

Arjun Munda’s lawyer Prashant Pallava had said that the petition was filed before the Holi holiday and was referred for an urgent hearing on April 2. On the same day, there were other errors in the application, including spelling mistake in the name of Jharkhand High Court Police Station. The Jharkhand High Court had asked him to correct the spelling mistakes in the petition, but Union Minister Arjun Munda’s lawyers ignored it.

Union Minister Counsel Prashant Pallava said that the necessary documents have been prepared to correct the errors and the court has been informed about this. However, after realizing the flaws in the petition, the court imposed a fine of Rs 1.25 lakh on the petitioner Arjun Munda.
