A virtual news anchor with artificial intelligence has been appointed in South Korea.

There are a large number of virtual news anchors and presenters in different countries and their performance has been so good that even government agencies have started using them instead of real humans to save costs.

The provincial government of South Korea’s Jeju Island recently hired AI anchors to host a weekly YouTube program, hiring them at a fraction of the cost of former employees.

Jana, a news anchor, is apparently very cool and experienced at work despite her young age, but this is because she is not a real person, but a computer-generated avatar controlled by a contractor private.

Then the news that Jana reads on the screen is also generated by AI language models such as Chat GPT.

According to the island state, the monthly cost of a virtual news anchor option and news production script is only 600,000 Korean won or the equivalent of 450 US dollars.
