Guwahati: Sarbananda Sonoval assumed charge as the Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways on the late evening of Monday, June 10. Pavitra Margherita also took office as Minister of State for Textiles on Tuesday, June 11.

In his inauguration speech, Sonoel expressed confidence in the ministry’s staff and their ability to achieve his goals. He emphasized the importance of a "the first nation" Gisha, calls his team to work for nation building.
In another key appointment, Margarita, a Rajya Sabha member from Assam, was welcomed by former Union Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal, who handed over the charge with a ceremonial presentation of a flower bouquet. Union Minister for Textiles Giiraj Singh was present to mark the occasion.
