Sri Sai Sevak Banaras Dal President Abhishek Kumar Srivastava said that some people want to spoil the atmosphere of Banaras and the country by removing the idols of Sai Baba from the temples. He said that a request will be made to the Police Commissioner of Varanasi to ensure that the idol of Sai Baba is not removed from any temple.

35 Baba idols removed from the temples?
First, Sanatana Rakshaka Dal removed the Sai idol from Varanasi’s Bada Ganesha temple, leading to the anger of the devotees. After this, small and big idols of Sai Baba were removed from 13 other temples. The Sanatana Rakshaka Dal has claimed that 35 Hindu temples in Varanasi have been identified and the Sai idol will be removed from there.

Hindu nationalist organizations oppose the presence of Sai Baba idols in Hindu temples. Now the devotees have opposed the steps taken by the temple management. But the Sanatan Rakshak Dal has said that there should be no idol of Sai Baba in any Hindu temple including Ganesha Mandir. Members of this organisation, which is based in Varanasi, removed the Sai Baba idol from the temple late on Sunday night. The Sanatan Rakshak Dal argued that worshiping Sai Baba in Varanasi, a holy city dedicated to Sanatan Dharma, is not permissible.
