Shiv Sena MPs and other leaders advised the central government on the Waqf Amendment Bill brought in Parliament. According to him, it is necessary to build a consensus before amending the waqf bill. Also, the Muslim community must be taken into account.
Speaking at an event in Jalna, Shiv Sena MP Sandifan Bhomer said the importance of consensus and taking the trust of the Muslim community before proceeding with any amendment to the Waqf Act should be stressed.
Shiv Sena leader and former Maharashtra minister Arjun Hotkar also called for a careful discussion before making changes to the law. According to him, waqf means property donated by Muslims for the welfare of the community. The party should take the Muslim community into confidence to avoid any negative perception. This is a sensitive issue and the government should keep in mind the feelings of Muslims.
