Ready to face BJP
Speaking to reporters at Satyamurthy Bhavan, the Congress party’s headquarters in Tamil Nadu, Tharoor said, “My message is to give new life to the party, empower the workers, decentralize rights and connect with the people. I believe this will prepare the Congress politically to face Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his BJP in the 2024 general elections.
It needs to be improved
Making it clear that he has full respect for senior party leader Mallikarjun Kharge, Tharoor said the election was a friendly contest to counter the BJP in different ways and had nothing to do with ideology as both belonged to the same party. Tharoor released his election manifesto saying, “We need to improve the way our party functions. We need to bring the youth into the party and really empower them. At the same time, we should give more respect to hardworking and older workers.
