Selling women’s care home as family retires after 40 years Achi-News

The home, in the residential area of ​​Duddingston, south-east of Edinburgh, has been owned by George Hall and his family since October 1984 and, “after many years of dedicated service and commitment to the welfare of its residents , they decided to sell to start a new chapter in their lives and pursue a well-deserved retirement,” said the selling agent.

Following a confidential sale process by Edgar Dingle at Christie & Co, Southpark has been sold to an expanding local operator.

George Hall and his daughter Janice Smith, former owners of Southpark Retirement Home, said: “Deciding to sell the family business of almost 40 years has been a difficult choice but, with the younger members of the family finding their their own careers and forever. the changing needs of the industry, we have made the decision that the future of Southpark is in the hands of a new team that will honor the ethos of Southpark and bring the changes the home will need to meet future industry demands.”

Mr Dingle said: “I am honored to have been an agent to work with both parties throughout their journeys. I am delighted that Mr Hall and Mrs Smith have left well and can now enjoy retirement. I also wish the new owner all the best in continuing the incredible standards and reputation that the Hall family have built.”

Southpark Retirement Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
