Maa Durga’s sari is decorated with 50 thousand bindis
Sculptor Jitendra said the bindi idol was created keeping women in mind. With this the sari was decorated with 50 thousand bindis. The design in the background was done with Alta, Shenka Paula, a mirror and a comb. Apart from that, 15 kg of pulses, rice, beans, wheat and almonds were used in the mixed grain idol.
Sculptor Jitendra said he has been making the sculpture for 15 years. Brother also received support in this work. On other days he makes a living from private jobs.
Durga idol is made of 30 thousand Rudraksha
At the same time, about 1500 garlands were used in the idol of the crystal beads. It is designed in the colors of the tricolor. Durga Mea’s saree is designed in white, saffron and green colors. Apart from this, a total of 15 kg of fennel, fenugreek, cumin, mangrila, mustard, celery and mustard were given the shape of Durga in the Panch Puran. About 30 thousand Rudrakshas were used in the Rudraksh Durga idol and 5,000 wicks were used in the cotton wick idol.
Idols will go to 6 different penalties
He further said that it took about 15 to 20 days to make all these idols. All these sculptures are 5-6 meters high. All these statues will go to different pandals. Rudraksh statue and crystal beads will be placed at Emrudi Gali, Bindi’s statue will be placed at Musallahpur Nathon Gali, Mixed Grains statue will be placed at Naichak Bypass, Panch Podan’s statue will be placed at Bhanwar Pokhar, Cotton wick will be placed at Musallahpur Hai Tula.
This time devotees will get to see different types of Durga idols in Patna. Sculptor Jitendra created six sculptures using Rudraksh, Bindi, mixed grains, Panch Foran, cotton thread and crystal beads.
Been making the sculpture for 15 years
Jitendra has been making unique Durga idols for the past 15 years. Later his brother Chandan Kumar also started helping him. Jitendra said that after seeing other sculptures he felt a desire to get into it. I was not trained for this anywhere. After gradually making sculptures, he himself became an expert at it. Apart from making idols during Durga Puja, on other days they earn a living by doing private jobs. He currently runs a juice shop.
Mother idol is prepared from mixed grains.
