Many actors from the industry are going to contest in the Lok Sabha elections which will be held soon in 2024. Meanwhile, there have been rumors that Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt will contest elections from Karnal in Haryana this year on behalf of the Congress. However, on Monday, the actor called the news as a rumor in a tweet.
Sanjay tweeted this on Monday.
Sanjay said – don’t pay attention to these rumours
Sanjay wrote, ‘I want to tell you that I am not joining any party or contesting elections. If I join any contesting party or election, I will tell you first. Don’t pay attention to all these rumours.

Sanju became part of SP in 2009
Earlier in the year 2009, Sanjay had become a part of Samajwadi Party, however, later he resigned from the post of General Secretary of the party. In 2019, there was news that he was going to join the Rashtriya Samaj Party. At that time Sanjay had issued a statement saying that he was not entering politics.
Sanjay’s father, Sunil Dutt, was a Congress MP and was the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports in 2004-2005.
Sanjay Dutt has been seen several times campaigning for his sister Congress MP Priya Dutt.
Kangana and Arun Govil will contest elections
This year many actors are entering politics. The biggest name in this is that of actress Kangana Ranaut who will contest elections for BJP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, actor Arun Govil, who played the role of Ram in ‘Ramayana’, will contest for BJP from Meerut. In Tamil Nadu, the star couple Sarathkumar and Radhika have also joined the BJP recently.
On the work front, Sanju was last seen in ‘Leo’ which released last year.
On the work front, Sanjay was last seen in the Tamil film ‘Leo’ opposite Thalapathy Vijay. He will soon be seen in Telugu film Double Eye Smart, Kannada film KD- The Devil and Welcome to the Jungle.
