Mumbai: Recently, the accused in the shooting case outside actor Salman Khan’s house committed suicide while in police custody. One of the two arms suppliers arrested in the shooting case committed suicide in Mumbai police custody, sources said. The accused has been identified as Anuj Thapan (32). Anuj was taken to hospital immediately after trying to kill himself. But the doctor pronounced him dead there.
Accused supplied arms
Anuj Thapan was arrested on April 26 in Punjab. Anuj Thapan allegedly supplied the weapons used to detonate outside Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai on April 14. Another accused, Sonu Subhash Chander, is also in custody on charges of supplying weapons.
These two were the ones who shot
Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, two others who opened fire outside Salman’s home, are also in police custody. On the night of the incident, he was caught on CCTV leaving the scene on a motorbike. Two people were arrested on that basis.
Bishnoi is involved in the case
In connection with the firing case, the accused is known to be in touch with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. After the incident, Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the attack in a Facebook post.
