Cathlab: Cathlab is very important to provide better facilities to the patients in the cardiology department. In such a situation, a proposal to buy Cathlab has also been sent to the department. This will also take six months. Echo Cardiography: An echo examination is important to detect heart disease. The cardiology department at Sadar does not even have an echo machine. A tender has been issued for its purchase.
ERCP test: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a technique that treats diseases of the biliary tract or pancreas. The process of purchasing this machine is ongoing.
Highly specialized departments opened in the last two and a half years
1. Department of Oncology Medicine and Surgery: A cancer department was started at Sadar Hospital in 2023. Cancer medicine and surgery departments are running here. Currently, the oncologist Dr. Gunjesh Kumar Singh, the surgeon Dr. Suresh M and Dr. Ajay Vidyarthi serves here.
2. Department of Gastroenterology: In the gastro department, which will be opened in 2023, more than 5000 patients have consulted gastroenterologist Dr Jayant Ghosh in the past year. Endoscopy facility is also not available at RIMS.
3. Department of Cardiology: A cardiology department was started at Sadar Hospital in 2023. Seeing the immense pressure of patients in RIMS cardiology department, a heart disease department was started at Sadar Hospital.
4. Department of Hematology: Dr. Abhishek Ranjan is the only hematologist in Jharkhand. Under his supervision, the Department of Hematology was started here in 2022. Thalassemia and sickle cell anemia are also treated.
5. Department of Pediatric Surgery: The Department of Pediatric Surgery for children was started at Sadar Hospital in 2022. Dr. Imran serves here. More than 500 children have had surgery so far.
6. Department of Urology: The Department of Urology was started with 10 beds. Now patients are received and treated on 25 beds. Two urologists Dr Prashant Kumar and Dr Shailendra Mohan serve here.
7. The Department of Nephrology: In 2024, kidney patients are treated in a 20-bed ward under the supervision of Dr. Naveen Varnwal. A dialysis facility is available from 2022 onwards. This facility is provided here in a new building with 25 beds.
