New Delhi: Two Indians died in the Russia-Ukraine war. It is known that they were taken to Russia with the bait of high paying jobs and sent to war. After this news came to light, the CBI started a strong search for the human trafficking ring.

CBI officials told CNN-News 18 that cases have been registered against various visa consulting companies and agents for allegedly recruiting and sending Indian youth to the Russia-Ukraine war zone to lure them with lucrative jobs. This human trafficking network is spread across the different states of the country.

It is learned that the CBI has conducted searches in more than 13 places across the country, including Delhi, Trivandrum, Mumbai, Ambala, Chandigarh, Madurai and Chennai. An official of the central agency said, ‘More than Rs 50 lakh in cash, criminal documents, electronic records like laptops, mobile phones, desktops have been seized so far’.

According to the CBI, the human traffickers network is highly organized and powerful. First they target the youth through social media. The local agent then approaches the youth. They attract high paying jobs and other benefits. The agents also spoke with the Russian agents to arrange the matter perfectly. As that surely arises in the mind.

A number of suspects have been arrested in the central agency’s operation. CBI is interrogating them. Investigating officers are trying to find out how the trafficking ring works, who is involved, how much money is involved.

Moreover, CBI has come to know that 35 Indians have been caught and sent abroad so far. And the officers are inquiring to know who is supposed to be sent. Surprisingly, this cycle of cheating has been going on for a long time. But the police administration did not find him. For now, the CBI will proceed with the investigation based on what emerges from the interrogation. However, it is known that there is a possibility of major arrests in the future.
