During his eight-over effort against Australia in Nagpur, Rohit Sharma surpassed Martin Guptill to top the list of batsmen with the most sixes in T20Is.
Rohit Sharma, the highest run scorer in T20Is, surpassed Martin Guptill’s total of six to take the top spot among six batsmen in T20Is. The Indian captain has 174 overs in this format after slamming two sixes in the opening over from Josh Hazlewood in a run of 91 in eight overs.
He is followed by Guptill (172 sixes) and Chris Gayle (124 sixes). Virat Kohli is the only other Indian batsman with more than 100 T20I sixes, with 104 now in the format.
Suzie Bates is the only other international batsman with more than 3500 runs in the format. Deandra Dottin and Sophie Devine are the only female cricketers with over 100 T20I sixes.
In a truncated match against Australia in Nagpur, Rohit’s top knock helped India get off to a fast start. In the eight-over match, Australia scored 90/5 batting first, but Rohit and KL Rahul put on a 39-run opening partnership in 2.5 overs to get India off to a flying start.
