Rangers star John Sutter left covered in blood as fans say he ‘got into the spirit of WrestleMania’ Achi-News

RANGERS defender John Suttar was left covered in blood during the Old Firm’s clash with Celtic.

The Scotland center had to be taken off after he started bleeding profusely from the forehead.

Sutar was elbowed at set-piece by fellow defender Conor Goldson in the first half of the Glasgow derby.

As Celtic went 2-0 up, Soutar was dragged off for treatment and had to continue the rest of the game with a headband once it was eventually allowed to be put back on.

Fans on social media noticed how bloodied the player was and sparked one of the weekend’s other big sports eventsWrestleMania 40.

The Panthers felt the Rangers Star Wouldn’t have looked out of place in the arena for the showcase at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

God WWE SPFL account is active Twitter (X.com) was quick to note the resemblance between Sutar State and a blood-soaked John Moxley, a wrestling legend.

They tweeted: “John Sutar gets a color to add some drama to the game.”

Another punter said: “John Sutar gets into the WrestleMania weekend spirit with the crimson mask.”

They then added a dig at one of his teammates: “…and also Fabio Silva with some ‘selling’ worthy of Sean Michaels.”

Away from the ring, some fans have drawn comparisons between Soutar and some Hollywood icons Movies.

“John Sutar looks like he’s brave at heart!” said one.

Another made a joke referring to Charlie Sheen in Platoon, saying: “Sutar just got back from Vietnam.”

Other Rangers The fans felt that the whole situation just summed up their generally disastrous first half performance.

One commented: “Summing it up, Sutar is out for treatment, clashing with his player.”

“Goldson injures John Sutar! What a display from Goldson,” said another sarcastically.

Another added: “I have no idea why the game isn’t stopped while Sutar gets treatment, but Rangers not dropping a player into the back four while he’s out is classic Rangers here.”

Celtic took a shock lead against Rangers after just 21 seconds at Ibrox this afternoon.

Matt O’Reilly then added a penalty to make it 2-0.

In the second half James Tavernier scored a penalty to reduce the deficit and it was almost 2-2 thanks to Cyriel Dessers but for a foul on Tom Lawrence in the build-up.

The score remains 2-2 at the time of writing.
