Randeep Hooda is in the news these days because of the movie ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’. He recently spoke about the biggest struggle of professional life. He said that when the film Battle of Saragarhi was shelved, he suffered from depression.

He also revealed how he almost missed out on the chance to star in Chris Hemsworth’s 2020 film Extraction.

The film could not be made even after many preparations

Randeep said in an interview with Bombay Humans, ‘I had grown a Sikh beard for 3 years for the Battle of Saragarhi. Apart from this, many preparations were also made. But that film could not be completed. This was a very bad moment for me, I was also depressed.

Randeep had no work for 3 years

Randeep further said, it was as if life was cut in half. For this, I had turned down the offer of Chris Hemsworth’s 2020 film Extraction. I once went to the Golden Temple. I had promised there that I would not be allowed to cut my hair until the film (Battle of Saragarhi) was over.

After the film closed, I had no work for three years. I had put on weight, it all felt strange and I didn’t know what to do. Parents were also very worried about all this. After this I received the offer of the film Extraction.

Bad times helped me become a better actor

Randeep said how this bad period helped him become a better actor. He said- If I had achieved success early on, I would not have been the actor I am today.

The film collected Rs 4 crore 85 lakh worldwide.

‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ is releasing in theaters on March 22. The Indian collection of the film has reached Rs 3 crore 35 lakh in two days. It has earned Rs 4 crore 85 lakh worldwide.
