Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar as the Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Privatization, while this position is usually held by the Finance Minister.
The Prime Minister’s decision is being criticized and critics say that it has led to limiting the powers of the Finance Minister.
However, in this regard, Bilal Azhar Kayani, speaking in the Aaj News program “Aaj Exclusive”, said that the Economic Coordination Committee will be chaired by the Prime Minister himself.
In response to a question, Bilal Azhar Kayani said that the Finance Minister is empowered in his decisions, that no one interferes with the decisions of the Finance Minister.
He said that all members of the cabinet were subject to the Prime Minister’s approval.
