The Election Commission has indicted Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N for his derogatory remarks against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Notice was given to Chandrababu Naidu. On Thursday, the TDP chief was issued a notice for calling Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy a monster and an animal during the March 31 Lok Sabha election campaign.

Message to Chandrababu Naidu from Election Commission

The Chief Election Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh has given Chandrababu Naidu 48 hours to clarify his statement. This notice was issued to Chandrababu Naidu after the complaint of YARCP State Secretary Laila Efi Reddy.

According to the notification, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu used derogatory words for Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy during rallies in Yemmiganur, Markapuram and Patla constituencies. He called the CM a monster, a thief and an animal. Following the complaint, the election committee checked the speeches, which were made available to them in a pen drive.

Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh

Let us tell you that the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be held in Andhra Pradesh on May 13. There are a total of 175 seats in the State Assembly and 88 seats are required to form the government. In the 2014 assembly elections, TDP led by Chandrababu Naidu won 102 seats with an overwhelming majority. Jagan Mahan Reddy’s YSRCP won 67 seats. BJP can win only four seats here.

In the 2019 assembly elections, YSRCP formed the government by winning 151 seats, while TDP could win only 23 seats. Voting will take place on 543 Lok Sabha seats across the country from April 19. The results will be published on July 4.
