During the incident, which happened at around 5.15pm on Friday March 22, the man knocked his victim to the ground before sexually assaulting her.

Detective Inspector Neil Guy said: “It’s vital that we find this man and I’m asking members of the public to think back and consider whether they spotted him.
“This area is extremely busy and heavily used by the community with dog walkers, runners and people walking to the train station.
“Several people have already contacted us but I am appealing to anyone who was in the area to contact us.”
He urged people with recording equipment, such as CCTV cameras or doorbells, to check any footage to see if it “might have images that could assist our investigation”.
Mr Guy said: “Give us any information you have, no matter how insignificant it may seem, let us judge its importance. Your information could be vital.”
Chief Inspector Brian Fraser said extra officers are now patrolling the area to reassure people.

He said: “I am aware that this will cause great concern to residents and I want to assure everyone that we are doing everything in our power to find the man responsible.
“I have ensured that there are additional officers on patrol in the area for reassurance and if anyone has concerns, please contact these officers.”
Police described the attacker as white, approximately 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in and of stocky build. He had a versatile look with receding brown hair and a scruffy beard.
It was said that the man had been wearing dark clothes and black trainers, and spoke with a local accent.
