Quebec provincial police say they are increasingly convinced that a woman in her late 20s found dead in an apartment southwest of Montreal was the victim of a murder.
Spokesman Louis-Philippe Rolle says a man in his 30s, described as a person of interest, is being questioned by investigators.
He said police are working on the homicide theory today as they continue to investigate the scene in Canadiac, Que.
The local police were called to the suburban apartment building by someone concerned for the woman’s safety.
Police say her body bears signs of violence but an autopsy will be required before the cause of death can be confirmed.
The Violent Crimes Unit of the Quebec Provincial Police took over the investigation.
