Piers Morgan will join News Corp and FOX News Media in a global deal, launching a new TV show in early 2022. Morgan will also join The Sun and the New York Post as a columnist.

Following the huge success of his Sunday Times No.1 bestseller, Wake Up, HarperCollins UK has signed worldwide rights for Piers Morgan’s new title and will publish it in hardcover, audio and digital formats.

Piers will also present a series of True Crime documentaries.

Piers Morgan said:

I am delighted to be returning to News Corp. and that’s where I started my career in the media more than 30 years ago. Rupert Murdoch has been a consistent and fearless champion of freedom of speech and we are going to be building something new and very exciting together.

“I want my global show to be a fearless forum for lively debate and agenda-setting interviews, and a place that celebrates everyone’s right to have an opinion, and for those opinions to be explored and challenge them vigorously.

“I’m also delighted to become a columnist for The Sun and the New York Post, two hugely successful and popular newspaper brands.

“I’m going home and we’re going to have some fun.”

Rupert Murdoch, Executive Chairman of News Corp, said:

“Piers is the broadcaster every channel wants but is too afraid to hire. Piers is a great presenter, a talented journalist and says what people think and feel.

“He has many passionate fans around the world and we look forward to expanding his audience in the UK, at FOX Nation, Sky News Australia, The Sun and the New York Post.”

News Corp Chief Executive Robert Thomson said:

“Piers believes passionately in the contest of ideas and the principle of freedom of speech, and he presents his perspective with a puckishness that is compelling to a wide and growing audience. It combines debate with wit, whimsy and wisdom.”

Suzanne Scott, CEO of FOX News Media said:

“Piers is an exceptional talent. We look forward to making an impact and exploring opportunities with him on all of our platforms, especially FOX Nation, where our subscribers will love his new show tackling the topics everyone is talking about about them.”

Rebekah Brooks, Chief Executive of News UK, said:

“Piers will be the prime draw for our new talkTV service and a great columnist for The Sun. Sun readers love Piers and I’m delighted he’s back. Welcome home!”

Paul Whittaker, CEO of Sky News Australia, said:

“Piers Morgan is one of the strongest and most important voices in the media. Piers is fearless. We are delighted that he will be joining the Sky News Australia team from early next year.”

Piers Morgan’s new show will be broadcast on talkTV in the UK, FOX Nation for US audiences, and on Sky News Australia. The show will be produced and filmed at the News UK studios in London Bridge.

In the UK, News UK announced earlier today that it will launch talkTV in early 2022. The new channel will be widely available and will include a schedule of exciting new shows and TV content from the existing stable of News brands UK. Other new shows for talkTV and details of where the channel will be available will be announced in the coming months.

Winnie Dunbar Nelson, who worked with Piers Morgan at CNN and Good Morning Britain, is appointed Executive Producer. The show will be available for syndication in other global territories.

Piers Morgan also joins The Sun and the New York Post as a weekly columnist.

Keith Poole, Editor-in-Chief, New York Post Group, said:

“Piers Morgan is a perfect fit for the New York Post. We can’t wait to get started with our latest Postie.”

Victoria Newton, Editor-in-Chief, The Sun, said:

“Forget Ronaldo, this is the biggest comeback of the year.”

HarperCollins will publish the sequel to the Sunday Times #1 bestseller, Wake Up.

Charlie Redmayne, Chief Executive of HarperCollins UK, said:

“Simply put, there is no one better than Piers Morgan for getting people to talk and think about the key issues that affect society today. We are excited to be working with Piers on his eagerly awaited follow-up book.”
