PIA Privatization Scandal: Deadline Extension to Facilitate Disqualified Bidders Achi-News

ISLAMABAD (News Desk) Privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) continues, Blue Group of Companies (BGC), one of the bidders, has accused the Ministry of Privatization of irregularities in the bidding process.

In a video statement, BGC founder and chairman of Blue World City, Saad Nazir accused the Privatization Commission of hijacking the company’s application.

He claimed that Blue World City was the only bidder who submitted complete details including a consortium to the commission before the due date and was eligible to procure the national flagship.

Furthermore, he added that the deadline for submitting the bid amount was September 27 and Blue World City tried to submit it on September 26 but the Privatization Commission refused to accept the amount citing some illogical issues Done.

He claimed that the Privatization Commission on the evening of September 26 extended the deadline for submission of documents for the application process, which was earlier set to September 25, to facilitate companies that failed earlier.

As the deadline passes, the Privatization Commission is scrambling to accommodate ineligible bidders, who failed to provide the bid amount to run the airline with a liability of Rs 200 billion.
