A day earlier, Mauganj soldier Sandeep Pandey had died after being shot in an inter-soldier dispute in Chhattisgarh. His mortal remains reached Ghurehta village late on Thursday night. His last rites were performed with respect on Friday.

MLA Pradeep Patel paid tribute and participated in the final walk. Sandeep has an 11-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son.
The soldier was given a final farewell with respect.
Two soldiers from Madhya Pradesh were shot dead in the CAF ghost camp (Balrampur) in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday. In this, one soldier Rupesh Patel (37) lived in Podi village of Maihar, while the other soldier Sandeep Pandey (39) lived in Ghurehta village of Mauganj. Sandeep died while being taken to the hospital.
Two soldiers named Abuj Shukla and Rahul Baghel have been seriously injured in the incident. Abuj also lives in Rewa. The firing was done by a fellow soldier named Ajay Sidar, a resident of Pusaur, Raigarh.
Villagers also took part in the funeral procession.
