Braille signage will be installed near all cages within 15 days

Anand Kumar, Range Officer, Patna Zoo, said, ‘Braille signage has so far been installed only outside the cage of the Holok gibbon. These signs have been completed for installation in the remaining cages, and will be installed next to the cages of all animals within 15 days. We tried installing Braille signage and received a lot of encouragement for it.

He also said that blind people were among the visitors to the zoo and they faced many problems. He couldn’t see, so he couldn’t get information about animals. Keeping this in mind, Braille signage was installed in the zoo, so that blind people can enjoy the visit to the zoo more and at the same time they can also get adequate information about the animals.

All the details of the concerned wild animal are given through this braille signage. Information is provided on its name, scientific name, animal size, length and weight, food, geographic distribution, life expectancy, reproduction and preservation along with its special features.
