Delhi Capitals team captain Rishabh Pant said he was nervous before his return. He is going to return to the cricket field after 454 days, he last played against Bangladesh in December 2022. Now he is seen playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL.

Pant will be the captain of Delhi, his team’s first match in the 17th season will be against Punjab Kings at the Mullanpur Stadium in Mohali. Mullanpur will be the 36th venue to host IPL.

Pant said on Friday, a day before the game, ‘I’m nervous as well as excited. Happy to be back in professional cricket. I’m just focusing on playing the first game.

Rishabh Pant had a car accident on 29th December 2022. After that he had to go through a long rehabilitation process of 14 months. Meanwhile, he missed an entire season of IPL as well as 2 ICC tournaments for India.

Cummins said- Starc is not used to seeing in other teams
A match will also be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL today. The match will start at 7:30 pm at the Eden Gardens Stadium, Kolkata. In this, Pat Cummins of Australia will be the captain of Hyderabad. Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc from Kolkata will play in front of him.

Before the match, Cummins said, ‘I have been playing with Starc for 15 years. I don’t remember ever playing cricket against him, and I’m not used to seeing him in the other team’s dugout. I don’t want to face their bowling, so I would like my team to bat better.

Mullanpur will be the 36th venue of IPL
Saturday’s first match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals will be held at the Mullanpur Stadium in Mohali. No international or IPL match had taken place here till now. The stadium will be inaugurated with a match today. The name of the stadium is Maharaj Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium.
