The Panchkula District Police is making strict vigilance and security arrangements to conduct the upcoming assembly elections in a fair and peaceful manner. Special operations are conducted against illegal liquor, cash, and narcotics by 12 fixed surveillance teams.

Under this operation, cash worth Rs 5 lakh was recovered from a person in the investigation conducted today at the Atomic Border Block under the guidance of Incharge of Police Station Kalka Hariram. When the person was asked about the source of this money, he could not give any satisfactory answer. Because of this the police seized Rs 5 lakh. In the operation so far, a total of illegal cash worth Rs 85 lakh has been recovered.
Apart from this, the police have also arrested a number of accused while taking action in cases of illegal alcohol smuggling, gambling in public places, and possession of illegal weapons.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Panchkula has appealed to the public to immediately report any anti-social activity during the elections to the police and cooperate to conduct peaceful and fair elections.
