The Pakistani rupee on Wednesday witnessed a bearish trend as the local unit depreciated by 08 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trade to close at Rs 277.91, SBP said.
However, according to the Foreign Exchange Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market stood at Rs278 and Rs281.75 respectively.
Meanwhile, the euro gained 92 paise to close at Rs 299.34 against the previous day’s close of Rs 298.42, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese yen was unchanged at Rs 1.83, while the British pound gained 48 paise to trade at Rs 349.24 from its last close of Rs 348.76.
The UAE dirham and the Saudi riyal rose by 02 paisa each to close at Rs 75.67 and Rs 74.09 respectively.
