Ogra approved gas price increase up to 74% – Public News

LAHORE: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has approved up to 74 percent hike in gas prices with effect from July 1, 2022.

As stated in the details, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has issued a decision on the companies’ request for a price increase, allowing 74.42% for Sui Northern and 67.75% for Sui Southern.

In the decision, the price of Sui North gas was Rs 545 89 paise per mmbtu, after increasing by Rs 406 28 paise to Rs 952 17 paise.

Ogra’s gas price for Sui South is Rs 692 63 crore, which is Rs 1161 91 paise per mmbtu after the increase of 469 28 paise.

The decision of Ogra will be implemented only after the decision of the federal government, if the federal government does not approve, the decision will be implemented automatically, from July 1, 2022, the increase in the price of injected gas will be implemented.
