Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader VK Pandian, a close aide to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, on Sunday claimed that the party would win three-fourths of the 147 assembly seats in the state.

Addressing the state-level convention of the BJD wing ‘Biju Shramik Samukhya’ here, the bureaucrat-turned-Pandyan politician said he hoped the party would come to power for the sixth consecutive time by winning 75% of the assembly seats.

According to him, “BJD will win the assembly elections by a record margin. We will win three-quarters of the assembly seats. The party led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will also improve its performance in the Lok Sabha elections. The Lok Sabha and Assembly elections will be held simultaneously in Odisha.
