A road will now be constructed in Chakradharpur Barkani village
On Wednesday, Singhbhum MP Joba Manjhi and Chakradharpur MLA Sukhram Oraon performed the bhoomi pujan of the road construction work at Barkani village under Hatnatodang Panchayat of Chakradharpur block in West Singhbhum district. The road was built under the Mukhyamantri Gram Yojana.

Villagers had protested during the elections
It is known that the villagers, angry at the lack of construction of this road, boycotted voting in the Lok Sabha elections. Despite much understanding from the officials, not a single vote was cast in the Barkani primary school booth. Nevertheless, there was an atmosphere of enthusiasm among the villagers during the Bhoomi Pujan program on Wednesday.
When the MP and MLA arrived in the village, the villagers welcomed them with drums. A large number of villagers including Zilla Parishad member Lakshmi Hansda, JMM leader Pradeep Mahato, Amar Bodra, sensor Sagar Sao, Rupesh Sao were present on the occasion.
