To fill the potholes caused by rain, a massive 15-day campaign was carried out by the Public Works Department in the state between August 7 and 22. Through this campaign, the objective was to examine the state of the roads in the state and speed up their repair work. To check the campaign, the department had instructed Superintendent Engineer level officers to carry out road inspections on the spot in different areas between September 9 and 15. His report was submitted to the department on 18 September.
These things came to light during the inspection
During the inspection campaign, a team of 15 supervising engineers conducted a surprise inspection of 10645 km of roads in the state at random. A total of 1362 potholes were found while the asphalt surface of 57 kilometers of damaged roads was found. Apart from this, 8.80 km long roads were damaged due to lack of drainage. Under the campaign, repair work was carried out on identified potholes and roads in 7 days.
3705 complaints on Lokpath
According to the department, on 30 September, 3705 complaints were registered on the Lokpath app, of which 3570 complaints have been resolved. The process of resolving the remaining 135 complaints is still being processed and will be resolved within 7 days.
