Ongoing human trafficking and infiltration attempts are made through the international border between India and Bangladesh. Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against eight people. The NIA alleges that the eight people are part of an international organization that smuggles Rohingyas and Bangladeshis into India using forged documents.

His name in the NIA charge sheet

The names of all these have been mentioned by the investigating agency as Jalil Mian, Hanan Mian, Kajal Sarkar, Adir Das and Anwar Hussain, Rabiul Hasan and Kamal Das. All are said to have operated their organization from the north-eastern state of Tripura. In the charge sheet, Kamal Das and Kajal Das were described as absconders. Kamal Das worked from Silchar in West Bengal with Liton Chakraborty. The NIA investigation found that Leeton Chakraborty had prepared identity cards for Bangladeshi citizens based on forged documents. It was further reported that Rabiul Hassan had good relations with the accused arrested from Assam, West Bengal, Tripura, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

This is how the organization was run

The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam registered a case in this regard in October 2023. The NIA then took over the investigation of the case. The investigating agency says the trafficked people were forced to do hard work for low wages. At the same time, the police threatened him with arrest.

What did NIA say?

A statement issued by the investigating agency said, “NIA has tightened the noose on human traffickers operating in India. A charge sheet has been filed against eight more accused in a case related to the smuggling of Bangladeshi citizens and Rohingyas through the India-Bangladesh border.” Earlier, NI filed charges against 24 Bangladeshi nationals in the human trafficking case.
