Nationalist Congress Party Chief Sharad Pawar in Maharashtra Sharad Pawar on Saturday announced the name of his first candidate for the Lok Sabha elections. His MP daughter Supriya Sule will contest from the Baramati Lok Sabha seat. Sharad Pawar made this announcement at a meeting organized by Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) in Bhor area of ​​Pune.

Supriya has been MP from Baramati for three consecutive terms.
The Baramati Lok Sabha constituency has traditionally been the stronghold of Sharad Pawar and his daughter Supriya Sule. Sharad Pawar became an MP 6 times, after that his daughter Supriya Sule has been a Lok Sabha MP from here for 3 consecutive times. Sharad Pawar’s nephew Ajit Pawar has also become an MP from this seat at one time.

Her sister-in-law may contest elections against Supriya
Ajit held a rally in Baramati on 18 February. During this, pictures of Sunetra’s wife were seen in the campaign vehicle. After this, Ajit also suggested in his speech that his wife should be pitted against his sister Supriya Sule. Appealing to the people, he said that this will be the first election for the candidate whose name I will decide for the Baramati seat. Cast your vote as if you were voting for Ajit Pawar.

Who is Sunetra Pawar…

Sunetra Pawar, 60, is a social activist. Sunetra Pawar is the founder of the India Environmental Forum, an NGO founded in 2010. Sunetra serves as a trustee of Vidya Pratishthan. She has been a think tank member of the World Entrepreneurship Forum in France in 2011.

His brother is senior politician and former minister Padamsingh Patil. His nephew Rana Jagjitsingh Padamsingh Patil is the BJP Member of Parliament from Osmanabad. His elder son Parth had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Maval, but was unsuccessful.

Ajit Pawar severed ties with Sharad
Ajit Pawar joined the BJP-Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde)-led Maharashtra government along with eight NCP members on July 2 last year. On the same day, Ajit took oath as Deputy Chief Minister in the Shinde government. After this the NCP was split into two factions. One group was of Ajit Pawar and the other was Sharad Pawar.
