Museum of Solutions, Mumbai Featured in TIME’s Annual List of the World’s Greatest Places Achi-News

The annual list of the world’s best places, which includes 100 exceptional places to travel to and stay, was published by TIME. TIME has included Mumbai’s Museum of Solutions (MuSo), a unique children’s museum, on its list of the World’s Greatest Places in 2024.

Located in the heart of Mumbai, MuSo is a unique organization that inspires children to become the problem solvers of tomorrow. It provides a range of experiences, including immersive galleries, learning and development programmes, laboratories using creative tools, and a library with a carefully selected selection of children’s books. The overarching aim of the museum is to inspire young people to think creatively and make a constructive contribution to their communities.

The MuSo team has been working to create an environment that fosters creativity and cutting-edge capabilities since the company was founded in 2023. Its intention is to be a place of learning, discovery and creation for guests. A variety of exhibits at the MuSo showcase creative approaches to problems in areas such as technology, sustainability, and the arts. Guests can observe first-hand cases of constructive change in action. The museum also hosts seminars and workshops on a variety of topics for people of all ages in an effort to promote a community of lifelong learners and agents of change.

Its status as a must-visit location for curious young minds around the world is confirmed by TIME’s recognition. The museum is committed to its goal of enabling visitors to become agents of change even as it expands and changes over time.

To create this list, TIME asked its global network of reporters and contributors for recommendations of locations, focusing on those that offer new and exciting experiences. Nominations were received for hotels, cruises, restaurants, attractions, museums, parks, and more.

The Museum of Solutions is different from other children’s museums in India because of its unique solution-oriented approach, which goes beyond traditional learning-through-play methodologies. The non-profit organization, which occupies 100,000 square feet in Lower Parel, Mumbai, includes four unique laboratories where children between the ages of two and seventeen can experiment with mathematics, physics, art and other STEAM subjects; using immersive experiences to tackle real-world issues such as marine pollution and climate change; use electronics, woodworking and technology to create sketches of anything from boats to robots; and learn about sustainability through composting and gardening. The museum plans to establish a Changemakers Panel by the end of the year, a first program of its kind in India (and worldwide) where children between the ages of 11 and 14 would help create new shows and activities.
